Prof. Leslie Garfield on today’s ‘not guilty’ verdict in the Casey Anthony trial

Pace criminal law Prof. Leslie Garfield is available to speak to the media about today’s acquittal of Casey Anthony in the death of her toddler.

Prof. Garfield has followed the Casey Anthony trial closely, and has been widely quoted in the media. She has taught criminal law for more than two decades, and has written and lectured on criminal law and criminal procedure.

Prof. Garfield’s comment the verdict:

“I think the prosecution did a very fine job of lawyering. They just didn’t have any direct evidence tying Ms. Anthony to the crime. Jose Baez and his team used that lack of direct evidence to create doubt among the jurors.”
