A Texas judge faces a court hearing on whether he should be prosecuted for mishandling a case that left an innocent man imprisoned for 25 years. Both ABC News and “The Los Angeles Times” have consulted with Professor Bennett Gershman, an expert on prosecutorial misconduct, to gain his perspectives on this unusual case.
The Texas case involves State District Judge Ken Anderson who is accused of lying and concealing evidence that led to Morton’s conviction.
“It’s very serious–unprecedented in my opinion–and it may lead to various kinds of reforms in criminal practice,” Prof. Gershman is quoted as saying in the ABC News piece.
