Professor David Cassuto was interviewed by a reporter for the “Cincinnati Enquirer.” An investigation conducted by the Ohio newspaper revealed that the Cincinnati area leads the country in hazardous material transportation accidents and that the number of spills is rising.
“The regulatory environment has become primarily reactionary…. They only act after a disaster happens,” Professor Cassuto is quoted as saying. “There is no real effort anymore to lower the risk as close to zero as possible.”
