“The New York Law Journal” published an article about the growing need for qualified attorneys to represent children who must appear in New York Immigration Courts. The children face deportation and are entitled to an attorney but do not have one, leaving them to navigate the court proceedings on their own. Many of them do not speak English
In response to this need, the Pace Community Law Practice launched “Project Protect,” a program designed to represent some of the children and also to train area lawyers to represent more of them.
