The American Bar Association has shined several spotlights on Pace Law alumni this month.
Janice Dean (JD,’05) and David Johnson (LLM,’06) received the ABA SEER’s Distinguished Environmental Advocate “Rising Star” award at a special ceremony held in Salt Lake City on Friday, March 22. The SEER (Section of Environment, Energy and Resources) Award “recognizes the contributions of lawyers to the development of law, policy and programs in the areas of energy and the environment.” Dean and Johnson were among 12 attorneys receiving the award this year. Two of the articles in the recent edition of ABA/SEER’s “Natural Resources and Environment” journal were authored by Pace alums. Matthew Jokajtys wrote “Insuring Fracking Risk: Can Conventional Insurance Tools Manage Unconventional Risk?” Sean T. Dixon co-wrote “Extraction for Exportation: Is There Such a Thing As ‘Net Energy Independence’?”
